Solch eine Mischung aus Disco und europäischer Elektronik wurde damals ähnlich im Warehouse von Frankie Knuckles gespielt. (siehe Playlists bei Gridface)
Anmerkung:
Die Tracks sind in der BCM-Box zum Teil gekürzt. Zum Beispiel der Song „Disco Circus“ hat in der Maxi Version eine Spielzeit von 14min.

„Solch eine Mischung aus Disco und europäischer Elektronik wurde damals ähnlich im Warehouse von Frankie Knuckles gespielt.“
Im Warehouse wurde post-disco und vor allem Boogie (z.B. D-Train), der starke Funk-Einflüsse hatte, gespielt, man wollte aber vor allem vom inzwischen ausgelutschten US-Disco-Sound weg. Es wurde dabei zwar auch auf sehr frühe Disco-Scheiben zurückgegriffen, aber vor allem auf neue Italo-Disco-Tracks (z.B. a la Jingo) – u.a. weil die Tracks oft extrem lange Instrumentals hatten – und auf reinen (Elektro-)Funk.
Mit eigenen zusammenschnittenen Versionen und Versatzstücken (vom Tape, teilweise mit Beats als Endlossschleifen) und live eingespielten Effekten und Drums, Tracks von Kraftwerk und generell Elektro-Pop aus Europa, und sogar reiner (deutscher) Synthesizer-Musik aus den 70ern, bildete sich dann im Warehouse ein eigener Sound heraus. Die zusammengebastelten Tracks inspirierten einige DJs schl. diesen selbstgemachten Sound gezielt (meist zunächst semi-professionell, nicht selten zu Hause – ohne Studio) zu produzieren und auf Platten zu veröffentlichen.
